What is a Sleep-Out? This event invites individuals, youth groups, and local organizations to participate in the experience of sleeping outside for a night to remember that there are families in our local community with no place to sleep or call home. The evening includes awareness activities, group activities, a movie and the cardboard shelter building contest. How to Raise Funds: Groups and /or individual participants solicit pledges from individuals, family members, churches and organizations. A minimum pledge of $30 per participant is suggested. Groups may set goals and work together to raise funds or challenge others to match their efforts.  All proceeds benefit the work of Keystone Opportunity Center. Our goal is to raise $16,800.

Why $16,800?  This is the amount of rent needed for a family of four to live in a Keystone Transitional Housing Unit for one year. Pledges can be made to provide rent for One Month: $1,400, One Week: $350, Individual Days: $50 per day, or any amount. For pledge sheets go to www.keystoneopportunity.org  EVENTS-Sleep Out.

What to Bring? This year our giving focus is on bedding. Bring your own to sleep with and new twin-sized sheets and blankets to share with our homeless shelter families. Our families are always in need of non-perishable items such as toilet paper, paper towels, diapers, laundry and dish detergents. Your group may collect these items ahead of time and bring donations to the “Sleep Out.”  Each participant should also bring warm clothes because it will get cold outside!

What is Keystone Opportunity Center? We are a comprehensive social services organization with programs to assist homeless and low-income families achieve self-sufficiency and avoid homelessness in the future. We also provide food, clothing, furniture, counseling services, education services and more to community members in Upper Bucks and Montgomery counties.
